Remember, subscribing to feeds through a reader doesn't mean that you can't visit the original web site. It can, however, alert you when your favourite sites have new content.
Indeed I, like you, have some sites that I like to read from the original. Sometimes because I like the site design and sometimes because I want to read the comments, which aren't in the site feed.
Of course, there are other sites that I consume in my feed reader because I just want to scan the content for interesting bits.
Don't discount the technolog - try to see how you can make it work for you, library customers, etc.
You are right Martin. I can see how it could be useful for the professional development of staff at libraries and also as a way to help patrons use their limited time on the internet more productively.
